For the classic SturdiBag, keep arch rods intact but remove the pad (machine wash separately), baseboard, shoulder strap, zipper clips, and two horizontal roof rods. Vacuum to remove loose hair and debris. Use a stiff brush to clear hair from hook/loop or tape. Wipe inside and out with warm soapy water, then rinse and air dry away from direct sunlight.

Rinse and air dry away from direct sunlight. For strong odors, soak in warm orange oil soap or non-bleach detergent. Treat with pet odor spray after drying.

We recommend the use of a vinyl cleaner/protectant called 303 Aerospace Protectant as the preferred safe Vinyl Cleaner. Avoid the use of window cleaners as the ammonia removes the coating that keeps the viny soft. 

Machine wash on gentle cycle in cold or warm water, avoiding hot water. Vacuum to remove loose hair and debris before washing. Use a stiff brush to clear hair from hooks/loops. Disassemble all parts before washing, including zipper clips, shoulder strap, pad, baseboard, and rods. Turn inside out before washing. After air drying, re-insert arch rods first before replacing other components.

Machine wash with non-bleach detergent. For the hammock pads, remove rods from guides by flexing slightly before washing. Also, place hammocks inside a pillowcase or fabric laundry bag to protect the swivel hooks. Air or machine dry on low heat.

Car & Air Travel Questions

Different airlines have varying size requirements for in-cabin pet carriers, so always confirm with your airline before flying.

The large cube and medium SturdiBags meet all airline specifications. The small and large SturdiBags meet most airline specifications. The Extra Large may not be accepted by all airlines due to its length. The Incognito model is not recommended for air travel but is suitable for casual outings with your pet.

The CarGo Pop-Up Kennel, is car-friendly, fitting in most car back seats without obstructing visibility. They can also be secured in SUVs using ties and tie-down loops. The medium pop-up is taller and wider, suitable for most compact cars but may overhang by 4 inches. All Pop-Up Kennels include seat belt loops except Euro back models.
